Well, what is there to tell about myself? I live in Norway. I was born in the far North the 28.11.82 (try to read that backwards), and spent most of my young life hunting polar bears:-) or maybe I just played a lot of computer games. In the winter, there was a lot of snow. It could easily rise some meters above the ground. The conditions were ideal for skiing. But the competition was too hard. I tried some other sports like football and cycling, but I kept ending up in front of my PC. I started studying mapping sciences on the Norwegian agricultural high school (I guess it's not really called high school in English) in 2001. I forgot all my computer games back home, and had to play Minesweeper instead (january 2002). I sweapt around for a week or two, until i got this really great score at the expert level. 131. This definitely had to be the world record. I searched the Internet, and found out that 131 secs sucks. I also found out that some guys used Camtasia for video capturing. I downloaded it, and decided to test it on the beginner level. I reset the scores and started playing. Damn, I hit a mine. The second try: A great box pops up, blocking for the mines. What the hell is that thing, I thought. Oh, yes. I'm supposed to write my name. My first 1-sec ever (First time below 4 by the way). At least, this have to be the world record. Alas, someone tells me that my board is "illegal". Well, I get the real (8x8) board, and about a month later I get my first "legal" 1-sec. In the end of march, I get my first sub-20, a 19. Of course, at this time of the year I should be studying for the forthcoming exams. But we all know how it is with minesweeper, don't we? In nine days I'm having an exam in maths. I think the math we learn here in school is somewhat boring. I'd much rather be working on my method of calculating square roots by hand. But I guess such things are not needed in the society of today. In the end, I'll just tell you who Jon Blund is. He's a guy in the children's TV. Jon Blund comes around to all houses in the night to make people sleep. Some wise guy figured out that I should get that nickname, and I thought: "Yeah, whatever". My totals for beginner and expert are as follows: |
