I got a more profound interest in the game somewhere around September ’99. All I can remember is that my exp time was 150 or so, and beg time probably was 6 (not sure). Since around January ’99 I already played every now and then, competing for fun with two friends who where studying psychology together with me at the Catholic University of Leuven. From January until April 2000, I lived in Bergen, Norway, to fulfil a part of my psychological research training. During those four months, I worked my way down to 5-30-90. My girlfriend still has an e-mail in which I ecstatically report about breaking the 100s barrier on expert! When I started working on my PhD in October 2000, I was at 5-25-80. Somewhere around that period, I found out about Damien’s site, which really motivated me because I didn’t know anyone who really liked the game. It turned out to be quite hard breaking my records. I got 21 at Jan 7, and 20 at Mar 21. Then finally, after trying like hell, I achieved a 19 on May 31. Then 18 (Jun 21) and, again after trying like hell, 17 (Sep 2). Now I’m at 2-17-66. Before I quit playing, I’d like to join the minute breaking club (59 or better on expert) and I must have a 15 or better at int. I believe that’s possible. Now that I’ve decided to start to study again (next to working), not much time is left for playing. Yet, I hope to find 30 minutes a day. My girlfriend says I’m a godforsaken freak. I reply that it is good for logic thinking, analytic reasoning, reflexes, keeping your memory in shape (I’m very forgetful), and to say the least, it’s better than hanging in front of your TV. But it’s hard to convert the world. Best scores (as of October 1, 2001):
